in the beginning

Neuengamme, 1942, !5 km southeast of the center of Hamburg in the Vierlande area.
Dr. Eduard Wirths and researchers were working to synthesize a parasite known in the scientific world as the Dicrocoelium Lanceolatum.
Or simply known as the Lancet Fluke.*
(The lancet fluke is carried in Enid snail excrement, which due to pheromones is highly fed on by ants.)
This parasite then travels from the ant’s abdomen into its brain, there it afflicts the ant’s nervous system and changes it’s behavior, which in turn has coined the phrase.. zombie ant.
The "good" doctor was trying to figure out a way to make Nazi soldiers more efficient, in the hopes of somehow controlling their minds. They would be able to do things they were normally unable to do, without the repercussions of a bodies physical limit, or the unpredictability of a conscience.
He tested these theories on involuntary subjects, with varying results.
It seemed most patients became immune to certain viruses that circulated among them.
While the other subjects were victims of a different fate.
Death.
Followed shortly thereafter by the reanimation of the corpse, with an undeniable hunger for live human flesh.
There is little else known about these disturbing experiments, none could be found after the fall of the third Reich, just horror stories from a handful of survivors.
